Bristol Scuba Club formed back in 1993 with only 8 members, this year there are around 40 active members. The club is made up from people with different diving qualifications - PADI, BSAC, NAUI, SSI, etc... We are not about who is the best diving organisation, but how to have fun whilst being safe divers. We meet at the swimming pool at Kingswood Leisure Centre, Bristol on Friday nights (9-10pm), at various dive sites along the Dorset and Devon coasts on a weekend, and other dive sites in the UK and the rest of world whenever we can.

Ernie will have his boat at Brixham next weekend. Please let Ernie or Helen know if you wish to dive from their boat as numbers are limited. They will not be at the club Friday.
Summer Party - 30 June 2012
The summer party takes place at John's home in Downend on 30 Jun 12. There is a carribean theme. If you need the address contact John Hammond or speak to us at the pool.
Cornwall -14/15 July 2012
Accomodation for club members and families has been booked at 2 apartments in Penryn (a short drive away). Details are available here. £35 for 4 nights. Price may go down depending on occupancy. Otherwise, you can book your own single/double rooms or camping nearby. Please see Mike Lewis with you cheques/cash as soon as possible. First come First served!
Christmas Party - 15 December 2012
It is a bit early to be thinking about Christmas, but we have already booked the venue and Jeanette is taking numbers, deposits and bookings for rooms.

Club Meeting
An informal meeting was held at Andy's house last Sunday to review club activities and the actions from the AGM. It was disappointing that only John and Andy were at the meeting but we did discuss a few useful topics:
- We are organising a lecture on diving safety to take place in November. Anyone interested in attending should let Andy know.
- John is looking at whether we can organise a trip to Portsmouth/Plymouth for a lecture on decompression diving, to be followed by a dive in the dive chamber. This is likely to take place in January 2013. Anyone interested, please contact John.
- We are considering doing some Brass Hat diving in February. Again anyone interested, please contact John.
Details to follow on these events. We will try to organise the next (short) meeting before or at the Summer party.

There are two Facebook pages, one open to everyone and one for members only. Look in regularly if you want to keep up with other members, events, dives etc. Members can sign up by emailing the club Secretary.
