Training
We get a lot of requests from people asking about scuba training. The club
does not do training itself, however, there are a number of members who
are qualified to teach. In the first instance, please contact John Hammond or Trevor Wiltshire.
Zoo Aquaria Cleaning
Attention all local scuba divers (open water or equivalent qualified):
Bristol Zoo which has an aquarium comprising 5 tanks plus a seal enclosure and a Penguin enclosure that need constant
cleaning every fortnight. We need scuba divers to help maintain the commitment Bristol Scuba Club has made to the Zoo for 14 years.
If you would like to help out, and dive with giant Pacau, or even penguins, contact John Hammond. See the Home page, John or someone at the pool for meeting dates. Cleaning takes place on Sundays, meeting at the Zoo by 10:30am. Scuba kit can be provided but contact John in advance. BSAC, PADI, or NAUI qualifications, it makes no difference - water is water. Other than your air, THIS IS A FREE ACTIVITY!
Wednesday Club
Wednesday Club dives can take place any working day, Monday to Friday. The
name was coined as the first few dives were always on a Wednesday. For those
of you who are fortunate enough to be able to get time off work mid-week there
will be diving trips arranged for Chesil, Portland, Babbacombe, Brixham etc.
Please note that payment will be required in advance of each dive. Usually,
6 divers or more are required to put on a dive.
The next dive will be announced on the Hot News page.
If you would like more information, please contact John
Hammond,
or see John, Andy or Steve at the pool.
